Door Mat Care Instructions

Coir doormats are excellent for trapping dirt and debris, but they require regular cleaning, especially if you have higher foot traffic.

  1. Go Outside to an area where you can easily sweep up or discard loose fibers and other debris. Don’t shake your mat over your layering rug!
  2. Shake it out by grabbing both corners on the shorter side and giving it a gentle to medium shake depending on how dirty it is.  There will be a lot of loose fibers and dust! You’d be surprised how much they can trap and keep out of your house!
  3. Do not grab your coir mat by the middle and shake.  This could cause tears in your mat especially as your mat gets older and the rubber becomes more brittle.
  4. Repeat every 2-4 weeks depending on how much foot traffic and dust you get.
